Community Engagement

The research team’s philosophy and approach is to change how research is conducted by emphasizing the role of diverse individuals with varying backgrounds and perspectives, and actively engage patients, practicing clinicians, and community members.

Frequent patient and stakeholder engagement ensure that the project team produces and promotes high integrity, evidence-based information that comes from research guided by patients, providers, and the broader healthcare community. Community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders are engaged by participating in a Task Force that guides study development, implementation, community engagement, and dissemination. The Trans Masculine Sexual Health Collaborative Task Force includes diverse trans masculine individuals, medical providers and representatives from allied organizations across the Boston area, and meets bimonthly to discuss study progress and next steps.
